Students celebrating their success after winning Overall Trophy in Saawan Teej Fest 2017
Ludhiana, August 08, 2017 (Manisha Sharma): BCM School Chandigarh Road took part in Saawan Teej Fest 2017 held at OP Munjal Rakh Bagh in Ludhiana and won the laurels in various events. They proved the mettle of their creativity by bagging various positions in different events and school hogged the limelight among 32 schools by lifting the Overall Trophy.

A total of 8 events were held and they participated in all the competitions and won many accolades. The team of School Band stood first in the competition and each student got a cash prize of Rs. 500. The school bagged the first rank in Mehandi Competition with cash reward of Rs.1100. In Drawing Competition in Category A students bagged 3rd rank with cash prize of Rs. 500, in Category B with the cash reward of Rs. 1100 our school got 1st position and in Category C while bagging the 2nd and 3rd positions students also got cash reward of Rs. 700 and 500.

In Nukkar Natak based on the theme of ‘Social Evils’ School team impressed the judges and secured 3rd position with cash reward of Rs. 300 each student. In Solo Song Competition the school participant was adjudged 2nd with cash reward of Rs. 700. Based on the theme “Bihu”, Folk Dance participants spell bound the judges as well as audience with their dance moves and ranked 2nd in the same. The school also got participation certificate in Teej Queen and Fancy Dress Competition. The students received cash prizes and trophies from S.K. Rai, Vice Chairman, Hero Cycles Ltd.

Giving details about the event, The School Principal, D.P. Guleria said, “Our all budding talents from the school made us proud by bringing the Overall Trophy. The school is proud of their success. Our school children competed with students from 32 schools and by giving them a tough competition they won the Overall Trophy.”
