Ludhiana, July 11, 2017 (Online News Ludhiana): Helen Keller has rightly said, “Once it was necessary that the people should multiply and fruitful if the race was to survive. But now to preserve the race it is necessary that people hold back the power of propagation”. World Population Day is an annual event observed on July 11 every year to raise awareness of global population issues.

Variety of activities and events are organized on international level to draw attention of mass people to work together on the issues of growing population. To promote the same an activity for class VIII was organized in BCM School, Dugri. Various PPT’s were shown to the students which aimed at increasing awareness on various population issues such as importance of family planning, gender equality, poverty and human rights.

The main purpose was to aware the young ones about the consequences of increasing population. After watching PPT’s students were asked questions about this awareness programme by Charanjeet Kalra. All the students participated actively in this activity. Students who gave correct answers were awarded by Rachel Bhatti. School Principal Dr. Vandna Shahi appreciated the active participation of students and also gave a message to students to spread awareness amongst people regarding consequences of increasing population.
