Ludhiana, July 09, 2017 (Online News Ludhiana): IMA Ludhiana organised a CME on Uro-Oncology and applications of Robotic surgery in management of complex maglignant disorders of abdomen and pelvis, which was attended by 150 doctors of city.

Dr. Vineet Talwar Co–Director Medical Oncology from Rajiv Gandhi Cancer institute and research Center, Delhi discussed in detail about the recently introduced targeted therapies in the management of cancer of bladder. While replying to the queries of the audience, he explained how targeted therapy is superior to conventional chemotherapy.

Other Speaker on the occasion was Dr. Rupinder Kaur Sekhon Sr. Consultant - Uro - Gynae Surgical Oncology from Rajeev Gandhi Cancer institute and research Center Delhi. She played many videos portraying various surgeries done by robots. She informed the audience that incidence of complications in robotic surgery is much less as compared to Laparoscopic Surgery and complications can be managed more efficiently with this technique.

Dr. Nitin Aggarwal, Dr. Davinder Singh Sandhu and Dr. Prabhat Kumar chaired the session.

Dr. Manoj Kumar Sobti was the observer on behalf PMC. Speaking on the occasion he informed that Principals, Deans of the Medical Colleges and doctors above 65 years of age do not need CME credit points for renewal of Registration. Punjab Medical Council is now functioning smoothly after Dr. A S Sekhon has taken over as President Punjab Medical Council.
