MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu with others planting a sapling during Van Mahotsav function at Government Industrial Training centre
Ludhiana, July 28, 2017 (Online News Ludhiana): The Punjab Government has decided to develop 4 leisure valleys in Ludhiana city, to provide pollution free environment to the residents of industrial town. This was disclosed by the MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu while planting a sapling during Van Mahotsav function at Government Industrial Training centre at Gill road in Ludhiana.

Talking to media persons, Ashu said that Punjab Government has chosen Ludhiana as one of districts in which more than 3.75 lakh saplings would be planted till the end of this Monsoon season. Besides that in a major move, the Government has initiated the project to develop green belt at the banks of Budha Nallah, which would be completed soon.

Replying to a question about the traffic congestion in the city, Ashu said that 3 new ROBs were proposed by the Punjab Government. These would be constructed near Convent school at Pakhowal, Ishmeet Singh Chowk and from Dugri Road to old grain market. He said that construction of these ROBs would prove to be the life line for city residents as it would provide better connectivity amongst many important parts, localities and commercial areas in City.

Earlier Congress leader Kamaljeet Singh Karwal has urged the Punjab Government that the saplings should be provided free of cost to schools and Panchayats during the monsoon season besides making provisions of grace marks to the students against the adoptation of each sapling.
